How can I recreate this shape I try plane tube and cube can’t make it this shape
Thanks a lot!
Hej! I know the problem is solved, but maybe for your other projects: Have you considered to create an alpha for items like this (it seems to be some sort of belt buckle, right?)?
When I need small objects for my sculpts, I often revert to drawing them in Procreate, playing around with increasing/decreasing grey areas until I have a satisfying black-and-white-with-greyscales image that can be transformed into an alpha with smooth edges. I then stamp the alpha on a primitive that is as finely meshed as possible (up to a resolution 700 or 800, depending on the details I want to achieve). Most of the times I use the box primitive. Then I trim everything away that has not been raised from the primitive’s surface.
If I don’t want the object to have a flat bottom, I just clone the object, flip it to its mirror image, join the two objects seamlessly together and boolean them into one new object that is 3D all around. Maybe this works for you, too.
Best wishes for all of your projects, Richard from RCStudio
Oh thanks a lot, ı actually want to make a belt buckle connection on a proper way, ı learn newly how to use alpha and stamp tool ( ıt has been struggle for me and ı watch some vıdeos about how to boelan them smoothly but not tried still). I’m trying to this project had good topology so and it’s true I needed them not flat maybe a little curved bc of the shape of head. Hi. Im reading your post and would love to see a visual of this in progress. i am new to the 3d modeling scene and trying to learn as much as possible.
Hej Andre, thanks for being interested in my solution of Didem’s problem. Right now I am stuck in work up to my ears, but give me a few days and I will try to upload a visual explanation of the process. Is that ok? Apart from that: Welcome to the sculpting community! You will find that this forum is an excellent place for all the good people here who really try to help and keep this forum a friendly, helpful and creative spot on the internet. Best wishes, Richard from RCStudio
