I’m running the latest After Effects version and matched my composition settings to those I’ve found in tutorials but my models, glb and obj files, appear flat in after effects:
here’s what it looks like in nomad:
Has anyone experience this and found a solution?

Are your normals facing the right way? If not, it’ll render inside out, which might cause something like this.
I’m not sure what this is. Is this a setting I need to change before exporting?
Basically it tells the program which direction the polygons are facing. If your normals are inverted, your textures and colors will display on the inside of your model, and you’ll get whatever default color the program assigns the back-facing side of the polygons on the outside. Sometimes when exporting between programs, the receiving application misunderstands the direction it should be displaying in, and the result looks like this. I don’t know if the normal direction can be changed in Nomad itself, but I know it can be done in other programs, like Blender.
Just had a go, try using GLB instead of OBJ, and ensure normals are enabled in the export options:
You can choose to bake normals and colour and whatnot, but thats the main issue here.
Here’s a test with various paint options. Remember to add an environment light with a nice HDR, if you don’t the metallic surfaces won’t look very good.
