I haven’t used the lathe tool up until now and every time I try the centre is always off. I have tried a fresh project, tried changing orthographic to perspective and it’s the same thing over and over again. I’ve looked to see if anyone else has had this issue but cannot find any help. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
The lathe tool’s center line is the center of the viewport. In order to make it centered on an axis you need to center your view on that axis, then start using the lathe tool.
An easy way to do this is by pressing the home icon next to the view cube.

Oh wow thanks so much!!! I should have known it was something I was doing and not this great software!! I’ve been modelling for a little bit and haven’t even used that home button so thank you for that info it’s soooo helpful.
