## 1. Make an Object Glow:

> [@Objects with their own light](https://forum.nomadsculpt.com/t/objects-with-their-own-light/2981):
>
> Hi! I’m going crazy and I don’t know how to make a lightsaber light effect … Where is that option to give this effect? For example like these rays

## 2. Posing:

You can use a mask to pose objects.

1. Mask off the area you want to pose
2. Blur the mask
3. Invert he mask
4. Move the pivot to the area of the joint you want to bend.
5. Use Gizmo or transform to pose the area

**Notes:**

- This technique works very well. Another thing you can do is use layers to save the poses as morph targets. For example, mask off the leg and create a layer. Then move the leg. Now you have a layer as a morph target to move the leg.
- Also, if you simple merge objects, you can pose them individually by selecting the object with the mask tool selected. Remember to invert the mask to move the selected object

> I didn’t realize you could already pose in nomad (yes, you can). I can mask off an area I want to pose and invert the mask. Then I blur the mask. Next I adjust the pivot to the root of the area I want to bend. It works very well. Now, it may be simpler to add a posing feature by adding the ability to save a mask selection with a name (and perhaps the pivot position). Even better, perhaps we could save the current model settings (pivot position and all, or selected properties we want to save). …

## 3. Render in Passes

> [@Rendering tricks](https://forum.nomadsculpt.com/t/rendering-tricks/1625):
>
> My first sculpt with Nomad. I used mat caps and the PBR rendering engine to save out render passes to use in art StudioPro to help develop concepts. Really fun stuff to do on a iPad Pro. ![image|666x500](]

## 4. Light a Candle

Rendering additive elements (like a candle flame) inside of a transparent element (with reflective material) doesn’t render correctly. Check out how to fix it below:

> [@Rendering Additive inside of reflective](https://forum.nomadsculpt.com/t/rendering-additive-inside-of-reflective/3166):
>
> Strange rendering when an additive object is inside a reflective one. The flame is inside of the cylinder with a hole and is additive. It renders behind it. Works fine when the flame is opaque

## 5. Adjust tube Sides

> [@Similar to Tube Tool](https://forum.nomadsculpt.com/t/similar-to-tube-tool/2004/5):
>
> It‘s already in. Under topology / tube topology uncheck „constant density“ and enter 4 in Division X If you want sharp corner, check flat subdivision and increase subs to 2, or uncheck smooth shading in display settings, but that is a global setting.
