Hello, first of all, I must say that Nomad Sculpt is a wonderful programme that can rival the almighty Zbrush, with a user-friendly, simple interface and enormous power. I work with it on my iPad and PC, and I have synchronised the files so that I always have the tools and projects on both systems at the same time with iCloud, but unfortunately, when I open it from my PC and have the programme open on my iPad, duplicates of the blindings.json and settings.json files start to be generated, and as the versions of the two are not synchronised, they do not have the same characteristics. That is why I suggest that the programmer assign different names to the files according to the versions so that the rest can be synchronised without any problems. I hope this will be considered as an option for future versions.
I know the issue but I have no idea why it does that, I think that’s because Nomad often overrides these files so there could be synchronizing conflict and PC iCloud decides to make a copy.
But I don’t control that, it’s an iCloud thing. In any case you can delete all the duplicates, only “settings.json” and “bindings.json” is used (at least for now)
Thank you very much for your reply. I will continue to think about the best method to keep the two systems synchronised. Thank you very much and congratulations on this magnificent project. Please, zmodeler for Nomad now!!! It’s a dream….
I have been researching more deeply how to solve this problem and have found a much better solution than iCloud, which is using the Syncthing application. With it, I synchronise all the Nomad Sculpt files from my PC with my iPad and vice versa, and I can also select files that I do not want to synchronise, to maintain different characteristics of the programme on each of the platforms. I think it is ideal. I hope it helps someone.
Thanks for the tip. Could you send a link to the iOS app? Because I don’t think there’s an official Syncfing app, right?
I have found an application called Möbius sync. It has a free version that is only 20 MB, and the paid version costs €5 and is a one-time payment. It works perfectly, but due to iOS limitations, it does not work in the background; the window must be open. However, after trying it, the result is very convenient and satisfactory.
