# Request for lock and curves in the Stroke Painting panel

Hi,

For each of the 4 slots in the stroke painting panel - the Color, the Roughness, the Metalness & Opacity I would very much like to see 2 new features.

One would be the ability to lock the slot so that it’s effectively read only. The reason is that I’m putting together an art studio and I’ve attached a screenshot for one of the panels to show what I mean. It works very well, right up to the point where I have a tool in the panel selected and I use the color dropper. Then the new color is selected & of course I move on and forget I’ve just altered the color to a different one. Being able to toggle a lock for the slot solves this problem.

The other is to have a curves icon as well. This is for when you are using textures in the various slots. Suppose I have a great roughness bitmap I’m using but it’s too light or it needs more contrast. Or a color texture map that needs more cyan in the darker areas. I have to make and edit & re-edit these changes outside of Nomad which is time consuming and counter intuitive. Having a non-destructive curves icon for each of the 4 slots would mean a drastic increase in time saved and flexibilty when creating materials.
