# Painting function options cannot be used

When I tried the painting function, when I chose the map, I couldn’t choose the brush, which should be a mistake!

You should select an alpha in order to use alpha settings.

Yes, I tried all kinds of methods, but there was no option! Then after I quit again, the function was restored

The scaling / tiling option is greyed out because In the image you show above, you have no alpha selected. If you select an alpha to paint with, then the Scaling / Tiling section will open up. This is not a program error and was not “restored” when you quit the app.

To avoid the confusion I can also consider the “no alpha” as a fully white alpha.  
That way, alpha parameters could be used.
