Nomad Windows version deletes content of project subfolders on startup

Nomad version 2.3 on Windows 10.

To keep things organised, I created a folder called “Output” under the “Nomad Sculpt\projects” folder, which I used to store renders. I’ve noticed that this is not a good idea as the folder persists, however every file in any subfolder gets hard deleted when Nomad starts up, which is definitely not a good thing.

If you create more subfolders, the same behaviour occurs for all folders, so all your files will be hard deleted, so you can’t even recover them from the OS recycle bin.

Creating an “Output” folder under the main “Nomad Sculpt” folder works as expected; rendered images are retained when restarting.

Is there some reason why manually created folders have their content removed on startup if they are subfolders of the “projects” folder, or is this just a bug?

Normally it’s not deleted but moved in can_be_deleted

projects/ should only support 3d files, not images (and everything will be converted to nom file format).

It’s the same for other folder, they only expect images or json depending on the type.

Thanks for the quick response. If it’s by design, that’s fine, it’s just not something you would normally expect to happen, and being new to Nomad I wasn’t even aware that could happen, or that the can_be_deleted folder was a thing!

Feel free to close this bug if it’s not going to change
