# Hide ask looses masking effect

Bug reports  
Isn’t hiding the mask [on/off[ supposed to just google visibility?  
When I hide the mask [Shift+H] and try to change my color using the new features, it will affect the entire object.

No, hiding the mask disable the mask.  
I don’t want the mask to be hidden but still active, I think it can be confusing (or I would need to add a warning).

You can change the mask color to white temporarily in setting if you need to keep it active, it will do the same.

No, I have to disagree! Photoshop, Krita allow hiding the mask while still being active. The reason being that it is distracting when doing certain edits where comparison to neighboring colors is crucial… For example in Nomad now, we can change the color. Say you wanna make an area darker, but the masked part is already dark. You cant compare it with the surrounding colors. I agree that a message or indicator to show that a mask is active is a good idea.

There’s no way to quickly disable the mask then.  
It probably needs a toggle or something.

By the way, are you iOS beta?

How about hiding the mask automatically when the color sliders are tweaked?
